This cartoon was drawn by Steve Breen. It shows Newt Gingrich dressed up as Santa carrying his bag full of baggage rather than toys. Through satire, Breen is implying to his audience that with Newt comes a load of baggage. Here, he is alluding to the many personal discrepancies that Gingrich seems to have such as the fact that he is on his third marriage. Clearly, Breen doesn't have a very good view of Gingrich and he wants to convey to his audience that, despite his sudden spike in popularity, it is important to remember that Gingrich has a lot of baggage coming with him. It seems that Breen thinks that if Gingrich can't keep his personal life together, he wouldn't be able to keep the country together either.
