Personally, even though Newt Gingrich is coming up steadily behind him, I believe that Romney is going to win the Republican Nomination. As we've watched others like Perry and Cain fall in the polls, Romney has been a clear front runner throughout the race and I think he will continue to lead all the way through the nomination.
As we learned in class, all presidents so far have been Protestant or Catholic. For this reason, I'm going to say that Romney's being a Mormon is going to work against him in his race for the nomination. He also was born wealthy and, as can be seen by the Occupy Wall Street protests that have been going on, the public is starting to rebel against the overly and might very well turn against him or see him as a person who couldn't represent the masses because he is part of the 1%.
That being said, Romney's campain has been free from scandals or bigot outbursts which can't be said for some of his competitors and he has a strong support base from many of the richer Republicans.
